ali circle

What happens at my Dandenong Ranges Mothers circle?

Circle is space to just be. To relax. To reflect. To decompress. Time to reconnect to yourself and connect with other women on the mothering journey.

Mother circles are a non-judgmental and warm space to be seen and heard – the light, the dark and everything in between.

Unfortunately not every space a mother walks into is non-judgemental and warm, this is why these spaces are necessary. We do not always feel safe sharing our darkest thoughts on motherhood or even our biggest triumphs for a whole myriad of reasons, but other mothers understand like no one else.

When you walk in the kettle will be on and there will be a cushion at the circle for you. We will then walk through the following:

Welcome and grounding in

Guided meditation

Opening circle with introduction ritual

Theme discussion (this will change each circle)

Journalling

Individual uninterrupted sharing

Reflection and wisdom sharing

Crafty activity (I choose intentional craft that will match the theme and will allow women to use their hands in circle as women would have done throughout history)

Close circle with grounding technique and blessing

Open chat, eating and drinking tea.

My wish is for you to leave feeling light, heard, truly witnessed and loved. To have had an opportunity to let you intuition bubble to the surface and to witness the magical messages circle provides.

Mothering is so many feelings at once. It is intense, wild, hard, incredible, joyful, motivating and depleting.

Mothering children is ongoing work. It is not just the early years but every year of being a mother. The situations change, yes, but the push and pull we experience doesn’t.

Mothering can feel lonely and isolating.

Huge days and nights with no time or uninterrupted space to share your experience, your honest feelings.

Mothering can feel disorientating, integrating our new identity and navigating changed relationships. Reconciling our reality with what we expected. Thinking that we would/could/can ‘bounce back’ to our previous identity, bodies, careers.

What we do every day as mothers is the most valuable yet undervalued work on the planet.

Circle allows you to take a moment to recognise the important work you are doing in the world and provides the appreciation and acknowledgment you deserve.

If you want a space to make the invisible seen, to talk about the nuanced version of motherhood, one that isn’t all #blessed, come to my next mothers circle.
