The matrescence t-shirt began as a simple spark of desire while browsing the stores inside the Matrescence Festival in March 2025.
Bronte and Ali were deeply inspired by the festival and felt a longing to wear something that named Matrescence. Something that sparked conversation and raised awareness.
But they couldn’t find what they were looking for.
That’s when the spark landed: ‘What if we could make one’
From there, the conversation began. Every time we saw each other there was space for the Tee – ideas, possibilities, excitement.
A realisation emerged: we could do this.
We played with designs, concepts and Pinterest boards until we landed on an idea we truly loved.
A T-shirt for every Mum.
Comfortable and easy to wear. Something that represents the fluidity and warmth of motherhood.
Something that honours the profound portal of change she moves through. Centering the mother’s experience while subtly reflecting her caregiving and her child.
As if by magic, Abbie Stoyel from Studio Flow Mo was recommended to us. She listened deeply to our vision and brought it to life, designing the beautiful T-shirt you see today.
Our hope is that this T-shirt sparks conversation, names what is often an invisible experience and sends ripples of compassion, support and understanding to every mother who sees or wears it.
The Matrescence Tee is lush, bright and inspiring. She is aware, confident and soft.
She came from a spark – and now she offers an invitation to spark meaningful conversation and real change.
She is a mother to two boys, circle facilitator, postpartum doula, motherhood studies practitioner and matrescence mentor.
Bronte is kind, compassionate and a true ray of sunshine.
A mother to a daughter, with a little one growing in her womb. Bronte is an accredited mental health social worker, EMDR therapist and motherhood studies practitioner.
Our work centers on supporting mothers to make sense of their motherhood experiences and of themselves.
We are here to hold and gently guide Mothers as they navigate the ever-shifting, fluid nature of Matrescence.
